I’ve worked in the charity sector since 2010, in roles where pressure, urgency and responsibility were part of daily life.

When I moved into freelance work, I expected more control over my time and energy. But what I found, and what I now see in the freelancers I work with, is this: It’s not enough to set boundaries.

They have to hold when things get difficult.

Through my programme Freelancers for Good™, I support experienced charity freelancers to redesign how they work, so their boundaries, structure and decisions remain steady, even when the sector isn’t.
